Programming

All radios shown above with the exception of the RP-3000 Plus and the SMX-920 are user programmable with no PC or special tools required. Our pricing includes programming of up to 16 channels at no extra charge. Programming of additional channels is $1 per channel. These radios require enabling of the user programmable feature for those who wish to do their own programming. There is a $12 charge for enabling the user programming option. Please add this to the cost of the RP99 Plus, RP3600 Plus, RM-3000/3600 or RM-800. A User Programming Manual is included when the user programming option is enabled. Tech support help on user programming issues is available at a cost of $25 per 15 minute period by calling toll free to 1.800.489.2611.

Other Relm/BK Radios

The radios shown above are our most popular models. There are three models of the RP-3000/3600 and RM-3000/3600 series radios. Each upgraded version includes enhanced features that are not available in earlier version. The lasted version is known as the "Plus" series introduced in May of 2007. The "A" Series was the next most recent and some dealers may have some of these in stock. Even though they may be offered at a lower price, your best value is the "Plus" series. The original models, now several years old have neither the "A" or "Plus" designators. They are suitable for applications not requiring enhanced features but not recommended. Falcon Direct does not offer either the original or "A" models. We offer only the "Plus" Series in the latest configuration.

Extended Care Programs

In addition to the normal warranty, Falcon Direct offers a variety of special service programs to meet the special needs of those we serve. Our exclusive TotalCare program offers three years of service with next day exchange replacement, all shipping cost and repairs at reasonable cost. This service is available on all Relm/BK radios. Flat rate repair provides all repairs, upgrades, housings, clips, batteries, and return shipping cost for a single flat rate fee. The cost of repair on the RP16 and RP99 is $125. The cost of repair on any 3000/3600 series handheld radio or 3000/3600 series mobile radio is $165 and the cost of repair on either a base station or repeater is $265. FCC Licensing

VHF systems can be operated without a license on five available VHF frequencies. All of our UHF radios require an FCC license as well as business, institutional, and governmental VHF frequencies. There is also an FCC requirement for periodic transmission of FCC authorized call signs at periodic intervals. The penalties for non-compliance can be very severe. Additional information is available at www.info4u.us/FCCCallSigns.pdf.
