 Want to know.......

what our wireless products and services can do for you?  In particular, would you like to know how others are using our wireless products and services to cut cost, improve services, and provide a higher level of services?  If so, read on!

First - a basic definition of wireless.  We use wireless as an alternative to wires for a number of reasons.  Wireless can be installed faster when you have an immediate need.  Wireless is generally a LOT less expensive than laying fiber, stringing wire, or leasing circuits.  Construction costs are reduced to basically zero.  Wireless comes in two basic formats - licensed and unlicensed (by the FCC).  Wireless comes in two basic types - analog, and digital for the purposes of calling, communicating, connecting, controlling, or notifying.  Now, let's see how all this comes together.

Most people are most familiar with network wireless services (Sprint, Nextel, etc.) where there is a monthly airtime charge for the use of the network.  Most people are NOT aware of private wireless services that have no monthly charges, with the exception of CB, FRS, and GMRS radios designed for short range private use.

The new generation of Airtime Free communications systems such as those manufactured by Ritron are designed to meet the specific requirements of those who need efficient wireless communications without airtime charges.   The typical users of these commercial grade airtime free communicators include churches, contractors, golf courses, hospitals, manufacturers, motels, public safety users, schools, and warehouses to name a few.

In general, most users of private wireless communications systems use personal handheld radios (i.e. walkie talkies).  Sometimes they will use mobile equipment installed on forklifts, carts, or other vehicles. In the office, a fixed unit, commonly referred to as a base station may be used.   The information contained on this web page deals with non-traditional wireless communications.  All of these products are made in the USA by Ritron Corp.  Ritron is also a major producer of traditional wireless products including the world renowned Jobcom hand held radios.   If you would like to know more about other American made Ritron products, click here.

Now that we have reviewed the basics of wireless communications, let's take a look at some of our more unique products and services used for purposes of connecting, controlling, and notifying.  Here is an overview of some of our more popular products.

Quick Assist II

Our most affordable 1-way calling device.  Sends a pre-recorded voice message over your choice of VHF or UHF frequency when someone presses the "call" button.  Works well for any indoor application.  No electrical connection required.  Operates from AA batteries.

Quick Assist

Similar to Quick Assist II but with longer range provided by external antenna.  Can be operated from either internal AA batteries or external AC power adapter.  This unit is weatherproof and is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.  Also contains relay contacts for remote control of external devices.

Reporter

Technically known as the Quick Talk Reporter, this device can be connected to external outputs of fire alarms, motion sensors, HVAC, lift station or other applications where a change of status can activate the transmission of a prerecorded voice message.  2 relay contacts included.  OK for indoor or outdoor use.

Call Box

This is our lowest priced 2-way call box that allows the user to communicate directly with personnel equipped with a compatible VHF or UHF 2-way radio.  Almost 10 times more powerful than our 1-way Quick Assist and Reporter units.  Suitable indoor use.  Battery powered,  AC powered optional.

Call Box XT

Similar to the standard Call Box, this 2-way call box is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.  Includes relay contacts for control of external devices such as a video camera.  Battery or AC power with optional solar power panel available.  Up to one year battery life with "D" cell alkaline batteries.

Gate Guard

Similar to XT Call box except equipped with external control of gate activator switch.  A two way radio equipped user can use this device to allow visitors to announce their presence.  If the user is cleared for entry, security personnel can open and close gates using their two-way radios.  A wide variety of options is available.
