Why in the world would you consider a school bus digital recording system by Eagleye from Falcon Direct?

Falcon Direct is fairly new to the bus camera business.  We had to ask a lot of questions to be sure we were making the right choice for the products to be offered.  We basically concluded that the determination of a "good" Bus camera would be determined by the following criteria.

Cost -   We determined that the lowest priced single camera systems costing a little over a thousand dollars would continue to be popular with many users.  Some were willing to pay almost twice as much for an expandable system with a minimum of two cameras installed per bus.  Still others recognized the value of an outside camera with rear view monitor and GPS recording of stops.  Most of those surveyed understood that prices significantly below those of the major providers generally meant significant risk in terms of reliability, features, cost of operation, and support.  

Functionality - Basic functionality should address such issues as available recording time (More available time means less need to exchange data).  A simple and secure means of transferring data to a PC is an absolute necessity!  In the case of the outside rear camera model, an enhanced viewing monitor allows drivers to clearly view activity behind the bus with no operational skills required. 

Reputation - Every supplier will have problems.  It is how they handle those problems that determine their reputation in the marketplace.  Everyone has the choice of running to, or running from problems.  Any company desiring to win the business of a potential customer should be totally honest about the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Anything else, to us, is simply unacceptable.

Technology - We ruled out VHS tape systems regardless of cost as well as "homemade" systems using offshore components to make up a "system".  At the very least, the system should digitize the audio and video for efficient storage and playback.  We favor a dedicated storage system rather than sharing computing resources as is the case with one big name supplier.

Value - Some people call it getting the most for your money.  The determination of value is based on operational features, ease of installation, operating cost, product support, and simplicity of operation with minimal operator training required. We understand the popularity of of product offerings under two thousand dollars and we understand there are those who will purchase such products without having fully evaluated the long term results of buying cheap.  We think it is well to remember the primary reasons for installing bus cameras - the first and most and most important is STUDENT SAFETY enhancement.  Secondarily, litigation avoidance is of significant importance.  None of us want to spend our time and resources in court!
