and manually activated audio alerting devices are useful for locating downed or disoriented firefighters, but what do you do when their is no noisemaker to lead you to the person in distress?

That's when you need a Tracker FRT™!  This incredible radio sized firefighter rescue transceiver continually transmits location information to other units that receive position information.  Tracker sees through walls and around corners.  It can even locate the right floor!
