An old name with a new image - Midland, a company proudly represented by Falcon Direct. You may wonder why we have added Midland to the other companies we represent - namely, BK Radio, HYT, ICOM, Motorola, Relm, Ritron, and TEKK. They all make good radios, so why do we need to add another? There are two answers. First, we we know that many of our potential users prefer to purchase from a State of GSA contract. Since the majority of our customers are in Alabama, it makes sense that we offer a radio that is on the Alabama State Purchasing Contract. Midland is on the contract with a discount of 35% - better than either Kenwood or Motorola.
The second reason for choosing to represent Midland may be a little easier to understand. Our job is to make sure our customers get the best value for the money. Unfortunately, one manufacturer can't always meet that objective (although some say they can). In the case of a mobile, Midland is in a class by itself!
We chose the MO Series mobile with exceptionally good power (70 watts in VHF and 45 watts in UHF), adequate channel capacity (128), dual mode (25 and 12.5 kHz capable) and useful features like two-tone page capability (both receive and transmit) and an external data port for use with external data accessories. The price is right! The quality and features are there! Now, let's take a closer look at the radio we have chosen from Midland that are especially well suited for public safety use.
